This is a beautiful mug made by Essexware in 1956 and designed by the artist Tom Alban. The Queensland Museum currently has one from this limited series on display.

We acquired it from a local estate with a great story. The former owner worked with relief efforts through the Peace Corps in the 1960s-70s. She had many items gifted to her, but we do not know where (there was no note).

This piece of pottery measures about 4.75 inches tall. It shows only very minor wear and interior staining that we thought best to leave alone (please see photos). It still display very well. We have a few other pieces from her travels across the globe that we are listing.

A percentage of the proceeds from this item will go to the Southern Poverty Law Center to help fight for good causes. Over the next few weeks we are putting up several rounds of items.
