The brand was founded over 190 years ago on June 8, 1832. Please see photo of bottom of the mug that has an irregular finish to it. It looks like I chipped it, when, in fact, it's been like that since I bought it. It's not a chip post-manufacturing, but a trim irregularity from the finishing process. It's called DIMENSIONAL WEIGHT, and covers the fact even if your box is very light, if it's large in size, they can fit less boxes in their trucks and airplanes.
